Keara Deaver

Attorney Keara Dever was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. In 2014, she received her
undergraduate degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. In 2017, she
graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law with her juris doctorate. While at
law school, Keara enjoyed volunteering her Spanish-speaking and legal abilities to the
school’s immigration clinic which then fostered a love of helping our societies most
vulnerable. Further, she began volunteering with the Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers
Project (GDVLP) through the University’s externship program.

Finding Dayton to be a warm and welcoming community she decided to stay and make
the Miami Valley her home. She also faithfully continued her volunteer efforts with
GDVLP after graduation and takes on divorce issues through their clinics. Keara worked
with a couple of larger firms in Dayton to gain experience and hone her skills. In 2023,
she opened her own law office.

Keara concentrates her practice on immigration issues, criminal defense, and family
law. She is an Acting Magistrate in the Dayton Municipal Court and is active in local
politics. Keara is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Dayton Bar
Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and is a volunteer of the
Greater Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project. In 2024, she was the first recipient of the
Brillance Award at the Access to Justice Gala Awards sponsored by Advocates for
Basic Legal Equality (ABLE), Legal Aid of Western Ohio (LAWO), and the Greater
Dayton Volunteer Lawyers Project (GDVLP).
